This is in the works. My story is long and painful and I want to prevent you from going through this hell.. Believe me when I say a man is capable of anything, for sadistic pleasure. Take your kids and have a good life. You don't need the father, unless you got one of the few that are a decent human being.
How Far a Father Will Go to Destroy His Children
My story is something you would expect to see in a Lifetime original movie—except there’s no closure, no end, just an unrelenting nightmare. Sadly, I don’t think I’m alone in this. If you are with a man who mistreats you in any way, take your kids and disappear.
The Return
After being away for two years, I returned to my ex. He had just picked up our son, Ravi, from his 24/7 daycare in Brookings, SD, and brought him back to his apartment in Hammond, LA. (If you’re wondering why daycare was 24/7—it’s because I was an entertainer at the time.)
That weekend seemed hopeful. We spent time together, cooked, went to New Orleans, and he even invited his brother and brother-in-law to join us. His brother promised to help us get counseling, since Tara’s anger issues and constant need for conflict were destroying everything.
For a short time, I felt happy and hopeful. Tara hugged Ravi and me, told us he loved us, and swore things would get better.
The Setup
But Tara had other plans. He was always looking for conflict, always turning people against each other. He often praised Hitler’s “divide and rule” tactics and used them in his own life. If he couldn’t find a reason to fight, he created one.
When Ravi was small, Tara once called his brother claiming I was harassing him at work—after he had asked me to come pick up a check. He would even invent tragedies, once telling me his brother had died of a heart attack and his parents had passed shortly after.
I had a miscarriage when Ravi was two. Instead of being by my side, he called me at the hospital and screamed that I was a “liability.” He showed no compassion, not even for his own family. When his brother was going through a divorce, Tara listened to his desperate voicemails and complained about being inconvenienced. He couldn’t get revenge on his sister-in-law, so he decided to destroy his own family instead.
That is why I fled with Ravi to Brookings for two years. But when I returned, believing his promises of counseling and love, everything spiraled.
Lies and Manipulation
I soon found out I was pregnant again, and at first Tara seemed thrilled. He said his family was excited. But within weeks, the threats began: if I came back, he and his brother would take the baby.
Worse, he had reached out to the father of my three older children, Bill, who already had custody of them. Bill was a master manipulator and liar, someone who bragged about deceiving people by omission. Tara paid him $20,000 to help concoct lies and manipulate his own brother into turning against me. The false story they built was that I was cheating while pregnant with Jasmijn.
Sixteen years later, Tara admitted he had paid Bill to lie. He has never apologized—only bragged about how much he enjoyed the revenge. He openly admitted that he cared more about hurting me and the children than about their well-being, and he took financial advantage of the situation.
Revenge as a Way of Life
Tara became addicted to revenge. For the first three and a half years of Jasmijn’s life, he kept her separated from Ravi. He even hid with Ravi in a motel for 19 months, publishing a fake notice in a Louisiana newspaper to “serve” me—even though I wasn’t a resident there and he knew exactly where I was.
The harassment never stopped. For 16 years he has sent sexually explicit, threatening, and degrading messages, always dragging the same fabricated lie about me “cheating” while pregnant. It was his excuse to torture us, and he has clung to it with pride.
Even now, at 50 years old and a respected IT professor, his real mission in life is destroying his family.
An Example of Cruelty
When Jasmijn was three, I moved with her to Fort Smith, Arkansas, where Tara had taken a position at UAFS. I hoped we could finally bring the children together. But Tara fought it every step of the way—because separating them was more fun for him.
By the end of summer, I told Tara I needed to return to Brookings. He pretended to be supportive, even asking what size dress Jasmijn wore while he was “shopping in China” with his brother. He told me to take Ravi to visit his half-siblings and grandparents in Brookings, saying he’d pick him up later.
But it was a trap.
I drove 12 hours to Brookings, and within 15 minutes of arriving, Tara called—laughing. He screamed that he was going to charge me with kidnapping. Ravi, only eight years old and autistic, broke down crying, terrified he would never see me again. Tara laughed at his tears.
Jasmijn, meanwhile, cried that she wanted to say “Hi Daddy,” and he screamed:
“NO! I HATE HER!”
And so my autistic son was forced to endure another 12-hour drive back to Fort Smith—traumatized, while his father laughed at the destruction he caused.
Fast forward my son finally got away from him at 18. His father drug him through court hoping to get guardianship, by making false claims that he was an invalid which was shot down, because it was blatant lies. After, our son escaped he ramped up his viciousness. He immediately reverted to his initial mission of keeping Ravi and Jasmijn separated and ramping up alienation tactics. He has moved to two different states in two years with our daughter and made light of the fact that it could drive her to a second suicide attempt.
No Closure
This has been my life: 16 years of nonstop lies, manipulation, revenge, and abuse. Tara has never shown remorse. His only satisfaction comes from destroying the people he should have loved most. Once, recently, he slipped up and admitted it was a lie from the beginning, then blocked me, as if that would delete his admission.
If you are with someone who mistreats you—even a little—don’t wait for it to get better. Don’t wait for promises, counseling, or “hope.” Take your kids, and run.
